In fact I am quite interested in what I am working on, and am happy to be learning new things. Unfortunately, not sleeping well, and other frustrations, have marred my enjoyment of my current circumstances. Still, I will prevail.

In the past two months I’ve been quite busy working Windows projects and IT administration. This has led to a couple of interesting (to me) discoveries and TIL moments.

Of those I wrote (a likely unnoticed) article on creating a Hyper-V VM from a physical Windows 7 machine when a naive approach results in a BSOD

and today another on Adding privileges for a user using PowerShell

I’ve done quite a bit more than that, including implementing a kiosk based on Windows using the ‘Assigned Access: Restricted Experience’ feature which is provisioned automagically by a Windows provisioning package I created.

I’ve also been busy with more Power Automate and Power BI. I am hoping, once I catch up on my sleep, to get back to the working at some Microsoft certifications. Having some experience building real projects with them ought to increase my chances of success with the exams.

I know there is a lot going on in the world, and I haven’t been able to totally ignore it, but I’m glad to not be as obsessed with following and worrying about things that I have no control over. I can only hope for the best.

So mostly busy with work this summer, and staying out of the heat (I am not a heat person; I overheat easily). Hopefully that means I am not only accomplishing things at work, but enhancing my career opportunites.
